Sometimes You Feel Tired Not Because You Have Done Too Much, But Because You Have Done Too Little Of What Sparkles a Light in You.

Today is a Tuesday morning, and as usual, I am tired. It is weird, here in Quebec, all I do is sit on my chair all-day, listening (or trying to) what the teacher is saying. When, I come home, at around 4 o’clock, I am exhausted. However, when I actually do something that I like, for example, when I go to Florida, my family and I go to the beach, we play football on the sand, we swim in the sea, we enjoy the sun and then we come home for a family barbecue. These days should be the days that are making exhausted, but it is actually the contrary. Nothing on Earth makes me feel happier and more refreshed. People there are nice, the weather, unlike here, is always amazing and I love the way Americans see life. They have this idea to always shoot for the star, pursue your dream, don't care about what others think of you. They are proud people and hard workers. This way of living is an inspiration of mine. There is something about this place that makes me the happiest girl. I really hope there is something in your life that brings you as much joy as this place bring me. It could be something small like your favourite movie, the fact that you like baking cookies, playing football with your friends, etc. However, if it sparkles a light in you, trust me, take the time to do it more often. Don't underestimate how good it can be for you.

Some Random, but Marvelous Places in the United States No One Talks About

When I was nine years old, my parents told my siblings and I about their awesome plan. They wanted us to go live in the United States in a RV for a six months trip. We had some sparkles in our eyes, in our head it sound really fun and we did not realize how big of a plan it was. In our perception of things, we were leaving school for few months to visit a new country and have some family time. Just the idea of skipping school was enough to convince me to be part of the plan. Jokes apart, my parents took two years to plan the entire trip. They did some research that lead to a personalized itinerary. During the trip, they also talked to some people that told them about amazing places that needed to be seen. Those areas are mysterious, breathtaking and less touristic than traditional destination like “Grand Canyon” or “Walt Disneyland”.  They definitely deserved more attention. Here is a description of my favorite ones:

         White Sands, New Mexico

This place is incredible! I remember when I arrived there, I could not believe it. The dunes looked like snow. This magical place is actually a military base and you need to check on their website before going for your own safety. Being the target of a military exercise isn’t exactly the goal here; please look for the information first. My favorite part of this day was to slide in the mountains with a toboggan. I am a Canadian girl; I am used to slide in the snow, but trust me, this kind of adrenaline rush was one of a kind. Even to this day, my family and I still talk about this isolated and unique destination.

    Louisiana’s Bayous, Louisiana

I feel like I might say that to all of the places I have been, but this place is for sure, one of my favorite destinations ever. I have never seen something like that before. Louisiana’s bayous are mysterious and foggy. The swamps are full of alligators and I had the chance to visit the mystic lakes with a local named Norbert Leblanc. He used to hunt alligator when he was younger, now that he is aging he loves to show his environment with the travelers. We began the tour by stepping in his dusted and old rowboat. He welcomed us with a smile and his homemade cap made with real turtle shell (this guy came prepared). We saw a bunch of alligators and some of them were really close. Later that day, we went to a local restaurant that Norbert suggested us; we ate gumbo and alligator nuggets. This experience was amazing and I will never forget it.

Powell Lake, Colorado

This place was actually created by the human race a while ago. They wanted to make a canal to help the navigation. Several men dedicated their life to this site, even some of them died during the process. Nowadays, we can circulate around the colored rocks (due to erosion) by using a boat. That is what we did. We went a two level pontoon and had an incredible day enjoying the amazing view and waterslide that led to the lake. We did some fishing too. We tried to cook our harvest, but the fish was pretty scaly, “it is the thought that counts", as they say.

I hope this little article was enough to describe the unique and facisnating vibe of these american sites. These places are simply breathtaking and they gave my the opportunity to create some memories that will last forever. Please make a quick stop on your next trip in the United States, you won't regret it!

Why I love travelling so much?

As you saw on my last post, I love to explore the world. I mean who doesn’t right? When I travel, I am always in a happy mood, I always feel like trying new stuff, meet new people, it is the perfect time to get out of the strict routine. My favorite destination is the beach, something about this place makes me feel calm but enthusiast, and it is somewhere where I can think a lot, but my problems do not feel as big anymore. Something about waking up with the smell of coconut sunscreen and sunshine coming trough the curtains makes me the happiest girl on Earth. You get out of bed, ready for a brand new day and somehow everything is better than normal. Is it just me or your breakfast tastes better? Even waking up isn’t as painful. When I am on a vacation, I like to take the time to notice about all the little details around me. I take the time to appreciate the moments with my family, the song on the radio, my ice cream that is melting, all these moments are some precious instants and I think it is important to take the time to be grateful. Travelling gave me some experience that I will never forget. Once I did a six months trip with my family in a RV, this journey brought us closer than ever but we had to do some compromises. Everyday, we did some excursions in canyons, forests, bayous, etc. It was the best six months of my life. When we travel to Florida, it is different, we go the beach and we enjoy the sun, it is way more relax but it doesn’t mean we have less fun. I like the quote “We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us”.  This phrase describe perfectly my way of seeing things. For sure, travelling can be a way to escape your daily routine for a few weeks, but picture it this way; it is more a way to meet new people, discover new culture, have some great time, and be happy. And that’s what life should be about am I right?

Get to Know Me

Adventure, what a basic word right? According to the dictionary, it means "an exciting or unusual experience". For me, it represents much more than this basic expression.  I love travelling, that is my own way to fill my life with adventures. It is my passion, I always have new travelling plans and I never feel happier than when I am at the beach. I am lucky, I have two wonderful parents who made me traveled a lot, I am very thankful. Travelling is the one subject that whenever I talk about it, I have sparkles in my eyes. As you can see, I am very passionate and I will love to talk about my obsession with you. On this blog, I have planned to talk about the best places I have been so far, some travelling life hacks, the craziest things I saw/did, my ultimate bucket list, some ways to travel on a budget, etc. Stay tuned!
